Marketing Manager

Location: Near Kettering, Northamptonshire

Due to the continued expansion of the business, we are searching for an ambitious individual to join our team as Marketing Manager based here on our farm in Harrington, Northamptonshire and help us save the world from mediocre gin!

Family owned and rooted in the English countryside, we are one of the UK’s fastest growing craft gin brands and one of the original pioneers in the recent craft gin boom achieving year on year success since our first distillation here on the farm in 2012. Now a team of 26 and growing, we are experiencing rapid growth both in the UK and increasingly abroad with bold ambitions for the future. We are fast-paced, dynamic and entrepreneurial and this role would suit somebody who thrives in a fun, fast and sometimes unstructured environment. You will need to be comfortable working in a team, sometimes working alone and always be happy to roll your sleeves up - joining in and doing whatever is necessary above and beyond your official day to day responsibilities. We have an active events programme and you will need to be happy to spend nights away and some weekends working at the events.

The role
Our business is driven by our marketing strategy and as such this is an important and integral role in our team. Reporting to and working directly with the owners of the business you will also work closely with our Junior Brand Manager, Sales Director and the Sales and Marketing team. You will be responsible for managing the implementation of the annual marketing plan which includes:

• Leading the digital and social media strategy and implementation including the creation of a rolling communication plan, setting of KPIs, tracking and measurement and making recommendations for continuous improvement
• Supporting the sales team via implementing specific trade marketing campaigns, activity, and tools (e.g. production of sell-in and in-store / in-bar activations and POS materials)
• Managing agencies to develop and implement campaigns for PR, digital / social media, events etc
• Overseeing the planning and activation of our busy consumer and trade shows and events programme
• Overseeing the marketing strategy of our new e-commerce platform including creating a rolling 12 month promotional plan
• Planning and executing the launch programme for Warner Edwards in new markets as well as for new flavour editions in existing markets
• Management of marketing budget and participation in the overall management of the business


In addition you will:
Contribute to the implementation of improved processes and best practice marketing to ensure efficiency and high quality output in the marketing team.
Actively contribute the development of the brand strategy and creation of the annual brand and marketing plan.
Coach and develop the team.


Our Ideal Candidate
• 5-7 years experience of consumer marketing and management of consumer brands in a fast-paced organisation
• Classic brand management experience, ideally having worked through the whole marketing mix, in-store and on-trade promotional campaigns, event management, digital and social media marketing, development of communication campaigns
• Solid experience of digital strategy including developing and launching social media campaigns. Previous exposure to eCRM and e-commerce a bonus
• Strategic thinker who can form clear and strong recommendations
• Structured planner with strong project management skills
• Thrives in a team environment but is also self motivated and proactive
• Creative, thinks laterally and inventively and can develop innovative communications and activations for a premium brand on limited budgets
• Strong inter-personal skills; someone that is outgoing, sociable and with good sense of humour
• Tenacity / Resilience – committed to the job, positive and motivated and able to work under pressure and to deadlines. Good at “getting things done”
• Excellent attention to detail, ensuring deliverables are always to an excellent standard
• Analytical skills – proficient in Microsoft office and assimilates data quickly and is able to carry out appropriate analysis
• Numerical and financial skills for budget analysis
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to travel and work some weekends at events
• Experience in on-trade marketing and brand activation is preferred
